Flat Bottom Bins

We asked farmers what they wanted in a grain bin.

The following standard features are a result of what we did with their answers.

Our bins feature bolt on wall and roof ladders made with galvanized steel.

Our bin roofs have a metal to metal, roof to side wall seal with bolt spacing of the 4 11/16" for a perfect seal. It has a molded in drip edge which not only keeps the water away from the joint, but keeps the sheet in its proper shape for easier assembly.

Farmers wanted a bin lid that could be controlled from the ground.

Our self-locking lid lifts up and pivots to either side so it never interferes with the auger.

Farmers also told us they wanted a door that didn't leak and had a minimum number of pieces.

You needed a door that was easy to open and close, and had a large auger chute.

Our Bins don't leak around the bottom, and never need tarring. We put alternating rows of 3/8" x 7/8" neoprene sealed bolts on every vertical seam.

Our bottom flashing, which fits over wood or concrete floors, keeps water away from your grain and your wooden floor. Bins are supplied with "Z" flashing or the concrete form.

We built a corrugated door frame for a better seal and added strength with a 100% moisture proof caulked seal. The inside also has one stiffener along the door for extra strength on stiffened bins. Four inch corrugations in the walls are designed for minimal vertical load.
Just open one latch and the door board hinges back and lifts off for easy removal and bin access. Once the door board is off, the auger board just lifts off. The bin door is 44" high and 32" wide.

When a “Prairie Steel” floor is used with our flat bottom bins, it will out last a wood floor and if required, still be able to move your bin and floor to a different location.
Sizes ranging from 14' to 21' diameters There are four pulling points on our steel floors, that are excellent for moving or anchoring your bin to the ground.

When purchasing a flat bottom bin insist on a “PRAIRIE STEEL” floor.
